Before i go into the benefits of the black seed on the skin. I thought it would be beneficial to go over a few scientific studies that have been done to find out the healing powers of Nigela Sativa.
Nigela Sativa is a scientific name for what’s commonly known as;
- Onion seed
- Black caraway
- Black Sesame
- Roman Coriander
And most commonly known as the ’’black seed’’.
There have been a huge number of claims by many health experts that it is indeed a true wonder drug that it helps to cure many diseases including hypertension, diabetes, cancer and many more.
According to a study carried out by Jawaharal Nehru Medical College where they aimed to determine the potency of the black seed oil against ‘super bugs’ some of which were resistant to a number of antibiotics. The study was done against several antibiotics such as Amoxicillin, Gatifloxacin and Tetracycline. Out of 144 of these strains, 97 were inhibited by the black seed oil. The study also uncovered that it was more effective against multi drug resistant strains of P.aerugnosa and S.aureus.
P.aeruginosa is a strain of bacteria that can cause cystic fibrosis which could cause pneumonia when it enters through the lungs and when it infects a skin wound or burn it can lead to extensive tissue damage or even septic shock.
S.aureus on the other hand can cause diseases due to direct infection due to toxins produced by the bacteria such as boils, food poisoning and toxic shock to name but a few. MRSA is a type of S.aureus that is resistant to the antibiotic methicillin and other drugs.
Hence it is remarkable that this ancient remedy that has been prescribed by the prophet of Islam (PBUP) for over 1400 years is indeed a true panacea. According to the tibb and the prophetic hadith it was narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said the black seed is a cure for all diseases except death. (Bukhari, Prophetic medicine).
Over 600 Scientific peer reviewed articles have been published on the benefits of the black seed oil has proven that with only a few issues that it may not have proven to help the body overcome, it has however proven the healing powers of this wonder drug is actually a true miracle! I can only imagine the benefits this oil could have on out skin!!
Stay tuned as i will soon be posting on the benefits of this miracle oil on the biggest organ in the body which is the skin.
